Sonakshi Sinha has been facing immense trolling for her inter-faith marriage with Zaheer Iqbal. Now, her dad Shatrughan Sinha has reacted to her wedding.
Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha married longtime boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal in a private ceremony at her Bandra apartment in Mumbai on Sunday. After the civil marriage, the newlyweds hosted a grand reception at Bastian, Dadar. The actress has been facing immense trolling for her inter-faith marriage with Zaheer. The newlyweds have even switched off comments on their wedding photos on Instagram to avoid unwarranted hate during their special occasion.
Amid all this, Sonakshi’s dad and actor-turned-politician, Shatrughan Sinha, has reacted to her civil marriage. When asked how he was feeling on the day of his daughter’s wedding, Shatrughan told Times Now, “Yeh bhi koi poochne ki baat hai? Every father waits for this moment when his daughter is given to her chosen groom. My daughter looks most happy with Zaheer. Unki jodi salamat rahe,” he said
Shatrughan continued, “44 years ago, Shatrughan Sinha married a very successful, very beautiful, very talented girl of his choice, Poonam Sinha. Now it is Sonakshi’s turn to marry the boy of her choice.”
Sharing photos from their low-key wedding ceremony, the newlyweds wrote on Instagram, “On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017) in each others eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and both our gods… we are now man and wife. Here’s to love, hope and all things beautiful with each other, from now until forever. Sonakshi ♾️ Zaheer 23.06.2024.”
Sonakshi and Zaheer dated for seven years before taking their relationship to the next level. While they got hitched in an intimate ceremony, the couple hosted a grand reception for their friends from the film industry.
